Simple Past Tense Active Passive
 

Örnek:

They bought three carpets last week.
(Geçen hafta üç tane halı aldılar.)
önce cümlenin nesnesi bulunur ve bu passive cümlede özne ola rak başa geçer.

Three carpets...

Active cümle Simple Past (-di'li geçmiş) olduğu için "to be fiilinin "were" şekli kullanılır.
(Eğer nesne görevindeki isim tekil olsaydı "was" şekli kullanılırdı.

Three carpets were.....

Active cümlenin fiili (buy) past participle (üçüncü haline) çev rilir. (bought) (örnek cümlede fiil past - ikinci haldedir.)

Three carpets were bought ...

Active cümlenin varsa yer ve zaman zarfı passive cümlede olduğu gibi kullanılır.
(örnek cümlede last week zaman zarfıdır.)

The carpet were bought last week.

Böylece "active" cümle "passive" cümleye çevrilmiş olur.

The servant brought the coffee.
(Hizmetçi kahveyi getirdi.)

The coffee was brought.
(Kahve getirildi.)

They designed it beautifully.
It was beautifully designed.
(Güzel çizilmiş.)

Everyone heard the cries of the woman.
The cries of the woman was heard by everyone.

The firm sent him to Paris last month.
He was sent to Paris by the firm last month.
(O geçen ay firma tarafından Paris'e gönderildi.)

They sold a hundred paintings last week.
A hundred paintings were sold last week.
(Geçen hafta yüz tane tablo satıldı.)

He paid my sister a lot of money.
My sister was paid a lot of money.
(Kız kardeşime pek çok para ödendi.)

He offered me another job.
I was offered another job.
(Bana başka bir iş teklif edildi.)

We wrote this book carefully.
This book was carefully written.
(Bu kitap dikkatlice yazıldı.)

They took him to the prison.
He was taken to the prison.
(O hapishaneye götürüldü.
